TEALING HALL SCIO
Conditions of Hire
Conditions of hire are subject to an annual review. Last review June 2024. The Hall is owned and run by the members of Tealing Hall SCIO, under the control of the Trustees. Subject to the approval of the Trustees, the Hall is available for regular users and private hire.
The following conditions shall apply:
- Responsible Person
A responsible person (over 21 years of age) must sign the hire/lease form and provide a contact mobile or other telephone number. This person or other nominated responsible person (over 21 years of age) must be present and in charge during the whole period of time the public are in the Hall. The responsible person will ensure that all members of the public have vacated the Hall, the Hall is tidy, and all lighting and heating is switched off before locking up. They will also be responsible for the general behaviour of the public. - Health and Safety Compliance
Tealing Hall SCIO expects parents or persons in loco parentis to ensure that children are adequately supervised at all times. Children are permitted in the kitchen or on the stage only if supervised by a responsible adult. The Trustees accept no responsibility for accidents or injuries arising from these activities. - Food Safety
The Tealing Hall SCIO accepts no responsibility for food made and served or food brought to the Hall and consumed in the Hall. Food Hygiene Guidelines are displayed, in the kitchen, for the benefit of all Hall users. Please read these and adhere to them. - Fire Evacuation – please note that the Hall fire alarm is not monitored. In the event of a fire, the Fire & Rescue Services will have to be contacted, dial 999.
In the event of fire, the person in charge will be responsible for checking the Hall building, that all persons have evacuated the Hall, unless their life would be put in danger by doing so. The person in charge will contact and liaise with the Fire & Rescue Services and also the Hall Trustees. All fire exits must be kept clear at all times. Users should familiarise themselves with how to raise the alarm and the locations of the fire exits in the event of fire. The Hall will carry out fire drills 3 monthly as part of a safety inspection routine. If this coincides with Hall use, the user will be informed in advance of the drill.
- Access and Safety
Persons entering or using the Hall do so at their own risk. All users are responsible for all areas of the Hall. Tealing Hall SCIO will not accept any liability in connection with any loss, damage, willful or otherwise, or theft under any circumstances; the death or personal injury sustained by the users or any other persons within the Hall area or the car park. Certain items of equipment are not covered by the Hall’s insurance e.g. a bouncy castle. Please check with Booking Secretary. - Health & Social Care
A no smoking policy applies throughout the Hall building to comply with the Health & Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005. - Deposit
A minimum deposit of £50-£100 is to be paid in advance. The deposit will not be returned if there is:
- Damage/or additional cleaning costs
- Mixed waste to be sorted
- Dirty kitchen/crockery
- Over running booked hire period
